Who We Are
Skytrans Australia (formerly SmartLynx Australia), an Australian passenger airline and part of Avia Solutions Group, operates 13 regional aircraft specialising in Regular Public Transport (RPT), charter, and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) services across the Asia-Pacific. As the Group’s first ACMI provider in Australia, Skytrans Australia is supported by the world’s largest ACMI fleet of 221 aircraft and 14,000 aviation professionals worldwide.
We are looking to hire one full-time B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) for our Cairns base.
Roster: 5 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 4 days off. Shifts are 10.5 hours, with morning shifts starting at 5:30 am and late shifts at 2:00 pm, offering a great work-life balance.
You will be responsible for:
• Working under the supervision of the Engineering Manager as part of the engineering team to ensure all maintenance and certification of Skytrans Australia aircraft comply with regulatory, manufacturer, and Part 145 MOE requirements.
• Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including primary line maintenance activities, to maintain the ongoing serviceability and presentation of company aircraft on a daily basis.
• Researching and ensuring the availability of parts for upcoming maintenance, testing equipment and tooling, and undertaking corrective rectification of aircraft systems and defects, including those away from base.
• Contributing to the safety and quality management systems and travelling to other bases when required.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their application:
• A valid CASA B1 Licence
• Experience on Dash 8 100 / 200 and 300 desirable.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of maintenance procedures
• Full Manual Driver’s License
• Ability to work effectively as part of a professionally diverse team, but also have the ability to work unsupervised
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to successfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
