Avion Express is a narrow-body ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) and charter operator. Avion Express provides top-level short and long-term aircraft wet-leasing (ACMI) solutions and also offers its clients aircraft on a charter basis. The company operates an Airbus A320 family aircraft fleet.

ARE YOU READY TO?
- Support the Accountable Manager in overseeing day-to-day airline operations, ensuring compliance with AOC conditions, EASA regulations, ICAO standards, and internal policies.
- Act as the designated delegate for the Accountable Manager in their absence, maintaining continuity in regulatory communication, organizational leadership, and operational decision-making.
- Liaise proactively with regulatory authorities (e.g., CAD Malta, EASA) and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment with all applicable regulations and industry best practices.
- Contribute to operational control, maintenance oversight, fleet management, leasing agreements, and acquisition strategies to optimize fleet performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with nominated postholders (e.g., NP Flight Operations, NP Continuing Airworthiness, NP Ground Operations) and the senior leadership team to manage organizational certifications, ensure operational readiness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in strategic planning activities, including aircraft selection, route development, traffic rights negotiations, and operational service agreements.
- Lead operational audits and readiness assessments, ensuring that all findings are addressed, and corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement, identifying operational risks, proposing mitigations, and supporting process optimization across all departments.
- Monitor KPIs and performance indicators related to safety, security, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous monitoring of the Safety Management System (SMS) and Security Management System, promoting a strong, proactive reporting culture and adherence to Just Culture principles.
- Represent the organization in audits, inspections, and meetings with authorities, customers, and partners as needed.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Flight Operations or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory.)
- In-depth knowledge of EASA Part-145, Part-CAMO, Part-M, Air-OPS, and associated regulatory frameworks.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in aviation operations, preferably in the ACMI or charter sector.
- Solid understanding of airline operations, fleet management, maintenance planning, crew management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS), Emergency Response Planning (ERP), and Compliance Management Systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, lead teams across functions, and make sound operational decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Additional languages are an advantage.
- EU citizenship or existing legal right to work and reside in Malta, or willingness to relocate.
