As a System Administrator in the ASG Aviation Solutions and Corporate Integration department, you will be responsible for the technical administration, stability, and performance of M&E (Maintenance & Engineering) software systems across multiple airlines within the group. The role focuses on ensuring system availability, reliability, security, and compliance, covering databases, operating systems, integrations, and supporting infrastructure. You will also coordinate closely with software vendors, functional teams, and IT department to ensure seamless operations and enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: - System Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor M&E system availability, performance, and scheduled jobs.
- Identify and resolve system alerts, errors, and warnings.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and releases in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Manage technical configuration of the software environment.
- Database Administration
- Monitor and manage DBMS backups, space usage, and performance.
- Apply patches and resolve database issues in cooperation with vendors.
- Failover, Backup & Security
- Define and execute backup, restore, and failover procedures.
- Manage SSL certificates, access controls, and system-level security.
- Ensure compliance with IT and aviation security standards.
- Data Migration & Integration
- Manage data migration activities to ensure clean, validated, and structured data.
- Develop and maintain interfaces with third-party systems such as Flight Ops, Finance, Electronic Tech Log (ETL), Document Management Systems (DMS), and Supply Chain platforms.
- Ensure smooth data flows between M&E systems and the wider IT ecosystem.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Act as the main technical administrator for M&E software across subsidiaries.
- Work closely with vendors for escalations and advanced support.
- Collaborate with functional administrators to align system setup with operational needs.
- Collaborate with IT department to ensure high system availability.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, preferably in aviation or enterprise IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS administration (PostgreSQL) and operating system (Linux).
- Hands-on experience with system monitoring, patching, backups, failover.
- Experience in data migration and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of system integration methods (APIs, web services, XML, JSON).
- Exposure to PowerBI and Azure is a plus.
- Aviation industry experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
