With a newly acquired UK AOC Ascend Airways are operating a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. We are searching for potential candidates for the position of Flight Technical Services Manager, this brand new role within the Flight Operations Department.

The successful candidate the opportunity to work closely withour Technical Pilot to shape our company policies and procedures and will play a key part in our airlines growth and success.

Reporting to the Head of Flight Operations, the Flight Technical Services Manager role brings togetheran exciting variety of Flight Operations Engineering responsibilities, withfull ownership of the Electronic Flight Bag as the EFB Administrator, allAircraft Performance calculations and the MEL customisation process.

Responsibilities:

The Flight Technical Services Manager (FTSM) is responsible for the safe, secure, punctual and economical conduct of all activities regarding Flight Operational Engineering for Ascend Airways. Providing adequate solutions for all questions derived from aircraft operational requirements, using engineering methods.

  • Electronic Flight Bag Administrator (CAA required person)
    - Administration of the EFB system
  • Ownership and administration of the Minimum Equipment List
    - Customisation of Ascend Airways MEL
    - Validating MEL performance procedures
  • Updating of FCOM, AFM, QRH in liaison with the Technical Pilot
  • Aircraft Deliveries/Fleet Integration
  • Flight Operations Performance
    - Boeing OPT & Database validation
    - Route study, Payload, Fuel burn
    - Aerodrome Performance Calculations
  • Fuel Monitoring Program etc.
  • Weight and Balance
    - Aircraft (re)weighing schedule
    - Loadsheet Process
  • Flight Operations Documentation
    - Onboard documentation
    - Return Flight Documentation Process
  • Charting
    - Liaison with Jeppesen
    - Production of company charts

The successful candidate will have the following experiences and attributes:

  • Several years of related experience in an aircraft maintenance organisation
  • Previous experience and skills for competent and proficient use of Office Software
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or aviation management, Project Management (aeronautical / engineering course) or equivalent experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of CAA and Aviation Requirements including knowledge of Part-145 regulation, company policies and standards
  • Good working knowledge and able to demonstrate an understanding of safety risks related to the safety environment
  • Working knowledge of airline operations and flight schedule issues
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of logistic processes, resource management and production planning
  • Knowledge of Human Factors, human factors performance and limitations

Other requirements:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites when required
  • Ability to hold a Full Airside pass
