WHAT WILL YOU DO

SmartLynx Airlines is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Base Maintenance Project Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of base maintenance projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, managing risks, and providing technical support to maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive maintenance project plans in coordination with the Planning department, including timelines, task lists, and milestones.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among all stakeholders (MRO, Planning, Network, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the maintenance project and develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential problems proactively.
  • Provide effective communication and a transparent reporting structure to senior management on base maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate technical support and guidance to maintenance teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Schedule and lead regular project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and updates.
  • Address any issues or challenges that arise during the maintenance project, making informed decisions to keep the project on track.
  • Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Manage on-site representatives to ensure MRO delivers on contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and ensure all RFPs are sent in good time and maximize airline volume to drive down costs and improve aircraft reliability and quality.
  • Prepare reports and be accountable for the performance of chosen MRO through contracted KPIs agreed around delivery, quality, and cost.

LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU

  • Aeronautical Engineering Degree or EASA B1/B2 Engineer License.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in an Engineering & MRO environment.
  • Experience in planning, strategy, forecasting, continuous improvement, aircraft maintenance, and maintenance programs is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience leading teams and projects, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels and with teams.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, with skills in analysis and problem-solving with all internal and external business partners.
  • Proficient in MS Office (OASES would be considered an advantage).
  • Experience using Airbus World is essential for this role.
  • Ability to think from first principles and work well cross-functionally, including with other departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities under pressure, and manage challenging interactions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
